1.    What are Acceptable Forms of ID For a Notarization in Maryland?

The acceptable forms of identification for notarization in Maryland generally include:

  1. State-Issued Driver's License

  2. Government-issued nondriver identification card

  3. U.S. Passport

  4. Another form of government identification issued to the individual that contains the signature and photograph of the individual and is satisfactory to the notarial officer.

It's important to note that identification requirements can be subject to change, and additional forms of identification may be accepted. Additionally, notaries may require an individual to provide additional information or identification credentials necessary to assure the notary of the identity of the individual.

2.    Where Can I have a Document Notarized in Maryland?

Most banking and financial institutions no longer provide notary services to individuals for liability reasons unless the document is for their institution.  UPS stores have notaries on-site but can often be off duty when you need them. Currently, FEDEX does not offer notaries in-house.

Most notaries today are Mobile Notaries Public who travel to the client.  SNG Mobile Notary Services℠ LLC specializes in providing both mobile notary services and electronic notarizations.  Both services are available to you at your home, business, medical care facility, or any other place of convenience.

3.    When Can I Have a Document Notarized in Maryland?

In Maryland, the availability of notary services is generally tied to the operating hours of the notary public or the institution providing notary services.

When booking with SNG Mobile Notary Services℠ LLC, we recommend that you schedule an appointment by phone or through our website.  If requesting a Remote Online Notarization (RON) or a Digital e-Signature signing, please try to schedule at least 24 hours before the notarization is to take place, if possible.

Remember that it's essential to bring valid identification and the document(s) that need notarization when meeting with a notary. If you have specific time constraints or scheduling preferences, communicate these with the notary in advance to ensure a smooth notarization process.
